Thomas C. Solich, owner of Solich Piano and Music Company, began to learn piano at the age of five and has wanted to see others enjoy the piano playing ever since.Thomas, a graduate of Baldwin Wallace, has had success not only in owning and operating Solich Piano and Music Company, he has also had success as a piano teacher and as a classical pianist. Being blind from birth, Thomas credits his parents for his success. Thomas said, “I couldn’t be an average blind person, I had to rise over my sighted competition.” To help his customers find the best piano for them, Thomas demonstrates each piano. Thomas has enjoyed working with institutions such as Otterbein University, Pittsburgh Opera, Capital University, New England Conservatory, & American Music Therapy Association. Thomas is dedicated to helping is customers find the best piano solution for them.
Kyle Merritt is a mainstay of Solich Piano. Thomas Solich and Kyle Merritt met in 5th grade while attending Howland Local Schools in Warren, Ohio. “It’s always good to be in business with someone you trust” says Kyle Merritt time and time again. He graduated in 2006 with a degree in Strategic Communication at The Ohio State University. Kyle has been classically trained in voice since the age of 14. He has enjoyed performing in musicals such as Guys and Dolls, Little Shop of Horrors, South Pacific and Hairspray! Over the last decade, Kyle has enjoyed working with various institutions such as Otterbein University, Pittsburgh Opera, Capital University, New England Conservatory & American Music Therapy Association. Whether seeking a piano for personal or professional usage, Kyle is delighted to assist every customer make the best choice for many years to come.
Jay Grayson is a native of Central Ohio and manages Solich Piano’s Columbus Yamaha and Kawai showroom in Worthington. In addition to Jay’s extensive knowledge of pianos and technology, he brings to Solich Piano many years of experience as a singer/songwriter and understanding of Musical Theater. Jay not only facilitates numerous activities and functions for Otterbein University but also attended their prestigious Musical Theater program. Jay has spent nearly five years proudly serving the piano community in Central Ohio, helping countless families, artists, designers and educators find the perfect instrument for their piano needs.
Spencer Reed is a piano expert who holds a bachelors and masters in music with specialization in piano from Youngstown State University. His knowledge of the piano in all its facets has helped Spencer teach, perform, and help customers find the instrument for them. Spencer teaches private piano lessons to students of all ages. He is also a church organist and is the Education Coordinator at Solich Piano. At Solich, Spencer teaches group piano lessons for students of all ages in addition to helping customers choose the piano that is the perfect fit for them
Kim Rodgers-Melnick is a board-certified music therapist and music instructor. She holds a bachelors of music degree in music therapy from Wartburg College in Waverly, IA where she studied piano as her primary instrument. Kim teaches group and individual piano classes and provides 1:1 and small-group music therapy services to children with special needs. At Solich Piano, Kim teaches group piano classes for students of all ages.
