Thomas Solich, Owner of Solich PianoThomas C. Solich, owner of Solich Piano and Music Company, began to learn piano at the age of five and has wanted to see others enjoy the piano playing ever since.Thomas, a graduate of Baldwin Wallace, has had success not only in owning and operating Solich Piano and Music Company, he has also had success as a piano teacher and as a classical pianist. Being blind from birth, Thomas credits his parents for his success. Thomas said, “I couldn’t be an average blind person, I had to rise over my sighted competition.” To help his customers find the best piano for them, Thomas demonstrates each piano. Thomas has enjoyed working with institutions such as Otterbein University, Pittsburgh Opera, Capital University, New England Conservatory, & American Music Therapy Association. Thomas is dedicated to helping is customers find the best piano solution for them.
Kyle Merritt is a mainstay of Solich Piano. Thomas Solich and Kyle Merritt met in 5th grade while attending Howland Local Schools in Warren, Ohio. “It’s always good to be in business with someone you trust” says Kyle Merritt time and time again. He graduated in 2006 with a degree in Strategic Communication at The Ohio State University. Kyle has been classically trained in voice since the age of 14. He has enjoyed performing in musicals such as Guys and Dolls, Little Shop of Horrors, South Pacific and Hairspray! Over the last decade, Kyle has enjoyed working with various institutions such as Otterbein University, Pittsburgh Opera, Capital University, New England Conservatory & American Music Therapy Association. Whether seeking a piano for personal or professional usage, Kyle is delighted to assist every customer make the best choice for many years to come.
Elizabeth Mueller, a Cleveland native, manages Solich Piano’s flagship store on Chagrin BLVD in Woodmere, Ohio. Elizabeth grew up in the suburbs of East Cleveland and her love for music led her to study with some of Cleveland’s notable classical and jazz pianists. After< touring the United States on various environmental and humanitarian ventures with AmericorpsNCCC, Elizabeth returned to live in Northeast Ohio. She gives the piano retail industry a new and refreshing flair. Her passion for diverse musical genres combined with her uniquely vibrant and charismatic nature makes shopping for a piano a dream. Elizabeth takes traditional sales out of the process and offers customers an experience of piano education and musical enrichment. Her sensitivity is portrayed the moment her fingers touch the keys. Our clients often tell us that Elizabeth is the main reason why they purchased their piano from Solich Piano Cleveland.
Spencer Reed is a piano expert who holds a bachelors and masters in music with specialization in piano from Youngstown State University. His knowledge of the piano in all its facets has helped Spencer teach, perform, and help customers find the instrument for them. Spencer teaches private piano lessons to students of all ages. He is also a church organist. At Solich, Spencer teaches group piano lessons for students of all ages in addition to helping customers choose the piano that is the perfect fit for them.
Nathan is from the Newark, OH area. He graduated from Capital University in 1999 after studying percussion performance, jazz studies and music education. He has played extensively in the Columbus area with many popular local groups and leading his own projects in an array of musical styles. Some of these venues include the Jazz and Ribs Festival, Gahanna Blues Festival, Community Festival, the Columbus Museum of Art and the Columbus Jazz Orchestra’s “Inside Track” series of concerts. Nathan is also a prominent educator having worked at Mt. Vernon Nazarene University, Capital University, and privately in local schools and in his own studio. Nathan is available in the Worthington showroom to help you find the piano of your dreams.
Katie is a 2020 graduate of Otterbein University, one of Solich Pianos’ conservatory partners, with a Bachelors of Music performance. There she studied piano under Dr. Nicholas Ross, and is currently building her own studio of students. At Solich, she enjoys bringing her own performance and teaching knowledge to the showroom and using it to guide students and families toward the best piano for their homes.
