Yamaha Recognizes Solich Piano with Two ‘Dealer of the Year’ Awards

(February 15, 2019) Solich Piano has been named the midwest region Institutional Solutions Group and large market Keyboard division “Dealer of the Year” by Yamaha Corporation of America, the world’s largest musical instrument manufacturer.

Solich Piano, owned by Thomas Solich, has served the piano needs of families, piano teachers, churches, schools, colleges, hospitals, nursing homes, and other music entities since 1994. In 2010, Solich Piano & Music Company became the fastest growing piano dealership in Ohio, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia and they continue this tradition of growth to this day.

Partnering with Tiffin University

Tiffin University students at pianosIn 2017, Solich Piano partnered with Tiffin University upon the opening of their new, state-of-the art Performing Arts Laboratory.  Just prior to their unveiling of this facility, Solich Piano installed 32 brand new Yamaha Pianos ranging from a Yamaha CX Series Artist grand piano with Disklavier Enspire technology to a large Yamaha Clavinova keyboard lab.

We conducted a successful fundraiser at Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church in Powell toward a Yamaha C7X concert grand piano. Solich Piano is adept in utilizing a multitude of fundraising opportunities for our music colleagues to upgrade their existing instruments in an expedient and cost-effective manner.

Overcoming Obstacles to Start and Expand Solich Piano


Though born completely blind, Thomas Solich has an unrivaled passion and commitment for piano and music education.

Solich Piano was started in 2006 by life long friends Thomas Solich and Kyle Merritt. They opened the doors of the first store prior to either finishing their collegiate programs. Thomas Solich earned his piano performance degree from Baldwin Wallace Conservatory in Cleveland. While Kyle has an extreme fondness for Columbus and The Ohio State University as his degree in Strategic Communications comes from OSU. Today, Solich Piano has grown to three physical brick and mortar stores in Ohio, located in Worthington, Cleveland-Beachwood and Youngstown-Boardman.
