“Since opening [our] doors in 2005, Solich Piano has parntered with dozens of universities, colleges and conservatories across northeastern Ohio and western Pennsylvania, including the Pittsburgh Opera, Otterbein University and Capital University, as well as the New England Conservatory in Boston.
“Solich, a concert pianist who’s been completely blind since birth, demonstrates their beauty and musical tones by playing extracts of Disney ballads for families with children as well as snippets from the likes of Bach and Beethoven for classically minded consumers.
Partnering with Tiffin University
In 2017, Solich Piano partnered with Tiffin University upon the opening of their new, state-of-the art Performing Arts Laboratory. Just prior to their unveiling of this facility, Solich Piano installed 32 brand new Yamaha Pianos ranging from a Yamaha CX Series Artist grand piano with Disklavier Enspire technology to a large Yamaha Clavinova keyboard lab.
Overcoming Obstacles to Start and Expand Solich Piano
Though born completely blind, Thomas Solich has an unrivaled passion and commitment for piano and music education.
Solich Piano was started in 2006 by life long friends Thomas Solich and Kyle Merritt. They opened the doors of the first store prior to either finishing their collegiate programs. Thomas Solich earned his piano performance degree from Baldwin Wallace Conservatory in Cleveland. While Kyle has an extreme fondness for Columbus and The Ohio State University as his degree in Strategic Communications comes from OSU. Today, Solich Piano has grown to three physical brick and mortar stores in Ohio, located in Worthington, Cleveland-Beachwood and Youngstown-Boardman.
