Solich Music’s own Kyle Merritt was mentioned in the New York Times article that investigated how COVID-19 has impacted piano sales during 2020.

Amateur pianists and students also drove unexpectedly robust sales in acoustic uprights. Kyle Merritt, the chief operating officer of Solich Piano in Ohio, said his company’s total revenue increased 20 percent in the spring, and sales of digital pianos rose 40 percent.
Many of Mr. Merritt’s customers were health professionals. “Radiologists, doctors from university hospitals, who were purchasing pianos for their homes and their children,” he said. “They had always wanted to get them into music. Now these kids were being home-schooled and to keep music a part of that they wanted to have the proper tools.”
