Theodor Steinweg, son of Heinrich Steinweg (founder of Steinway & Sons) sold his interest to Wilhelm Grotrian. Grotrian is handmade in Braunschweig, Germany. The pianos are single strung, use a Renner action, and have a homogeneous, European white spruce soundboard design. This piano has precision feel, and the balanced, deep sound profile and generous sustain of a premium, hand-made instrument!
