This beautiful Steinway was Commissioned by the Burkhardt family of Burkhardt Brewing Company in Akron. Since its birth in 1928, this piano has only been a part of three families.
In 2006 the current owners had the piano evaluated by Steinway. The review states that Steinway found the piano to be in above-average condition for its age. The owners decided in 2015 to have the piano refurbished by a master technician in the Cleveland area. This has improved the value of this instrument even more as far as playability, and it has also insured that this piano is ready to last another hundred years.
The case is 501-A Art Sketch. This means that the case and legs were hand-carved from an artist’s design, making this piano one of a kind. The Cabinet is finished with a hand-rubbed satin lacquer.
